As New Zealand's and Australia's leading insurer, IAG has a proud history of being there for New Zealanders when they need us most, with a purpose to make your world a safer place. We provide insurance for a growing New Zealand and for 158 years have been helping Kiwis in all lines of work, in all parts of the country, through good times and bad. We are focused on our long-term strategy and looking for our next Chief Risk Officer.
The Chief Risk Officer leads our risk function and acts as a trusted business partner to bring to light risk perspectives, insights and challenges to the business. This is achieved by being proactive, creative and influential in enabling our people, customers, partners and shareholders to create and protect value.
About the role
You will report to the IAG NZ CEO, with a dotted line to the IAG Group Chief Risk Officer and are part of our high performing New Zealand Leadership Team. This key strategic role will drive a positive risk culture across IAG NZ by encouraging the mindset that risk management is an enabler of business success.
At IAG we have an unyielding focus to put our partners, customers and communities at the heart of everything we do. The Chief Risk Officer ensures sustainable and ethical business practices delivered by appropriate resources, capabilities and processes that are underpinned by a strong risk culture.
Who we're looking for
You'll be a confident leader with broad experience working in a senior management role within a large complex corporate environment. Possessing a proven track record of success and experience in senior risk roles within the financial services sector will stand you in good stead. We will consider candidates from outside of the financial services sector who can demonstrate extensive risk management experience in the context of a changing and competitive business landscape.
As a member of the New Zealand Leadership Team, your opportunity to lead will extend beyond the risk function as you work with your senior colleagues to bring the IAG NZ and IAG Group strategy and purpose to life.
Crucial to your success will be your strong executive disposition and a proven ability to build collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders including Boards, regulatory bodies and agencies in New Zealand and Australia.
If you're energised by challenge, adept at leading through change, are a strong purpose-led communicator and have a diversity of perspective that reflects the range of our partners, customers and people - we'd love to hear from you.
