- Critical national role
WorkSafe New Zealand has a mandate to significantly improve New Zealand's workplace health and safety performance. Since its inception in 2013, strong foundations have been laid. With the very recent and much anticipated implementation of the Health and Safety at Work Act, WorkSafe is making purposeful progress towards ensuring workers are safe in their workplaces.
However there is still much to be achieved. The Board is seeking a CEO with the relevant experience, intellectual capacity, and sound judgment, to further embed and operationalise the organisational strategy, and to lead the development of the agency and its work into the future. Another key focus is to increase awareness, understanding and relevance of the important role which WorkSafe delivers. You will be leading a high performing senior team, and committed and motivated staff.
You will be a highly competent leader, with a track record of successful, unifying, organisational performance, and working effectively with subject matter experts and complexity. Your career to date will underpin your ability to build and gain the trust of a broad range of stakeholders. This will likely include experience in compliance and or regulatory environments, with workplace health and safety being an advantage.
