Central Otago District Council is the territorial authority for an area of approximately 10,000 km², encompassing Alexandra, Cromwell, Roxburgh, Clyde and Ranfurly. The Council, based in Alexandra, serves a growing community of nearly 20,000 and employs 130 FTEs, with operating revenues of $43 million.
The Council is in a robust financial position and services its community with a strong service and values based ethos. The key focus for the Chief Executive Officer will be to lead the team which builds on this culture and implement strategies and plans which enhance service to the community.
Key elements to success in this role will include a forward-thinking approach in promoting the district vision, planning for and responding to the growth in the district and delivering key infrastructure projects.

Successful candidates will likely have executive experience in the local government sector. Candidates will possess a skill-set that demonstrates strategic and values lead leadership, strong relationship management and team building skills.
