Established in 1891, the New Zealand Bankers' Association is a forum for member banks to work together on a co-operative basis on non-competitive industry issues. It is a non-profit unincorporated Association funded by member banks through subscriptions. Membership of the Association is open to any bank registered under the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1989.
The governing body of the Association is the Council, comprising the Chief Executive of each member bank. The Association’s work is carried out by a small professional and administrative team based in Wellington.
We are seeking a proactive leader ideally from the banking or broader financial services sector to act as an advocate for the banking industry and member banks building and driving a strong understanding and relationships between the Association, government, regulators, media and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a well-regarded executive who is an excellent communicator with the highest levels of personal and professional integrity. An accomplished relationship builder, s/he will possess the gravitas, stature and ability to build trust and credibility with internal and external stakeholders including government and regulators. This role may suit a financial services professional returning from offshore.
