· Strategic Hospitality Leadership Role
· Invercargill Based
This role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead a large community-owned organisation that operates commercial hospitality businesses and a major portion of its profits are reinvested in community facilities and events. The Invercargill Licensing Trust (ILT) operates 26 businesses in the hospitality sector across Invercargill, including hotels, motels, restaurants, catering venues, bars, retail and wholesale liquor distribution, as well as motels in Dunedin and Christchurch. The ILT has a rich heritage of investing in leading edge hospitality facilities and funding significant community projects through its distribution of profits to over 400 community organisations each year.
The ILT is an active and significant investor in the city economy. It has recently announced the spend of $40m on a new 80-room central city hotel. There are several other major hospitality, sporting and conference facilities within the management and sponsorship of ILT. For more information see www.stadiumsouth.co.nz
Reporting to the Board and working with an experienced management team, the CEO will focus on providing leadership to maximise results and further develop the current business model. With the major new central city development project due to commence in 2018, the CEO will play a key role in engaging with stakeholders and the general public, as well as taking an oversight focus on planning, commercial and operational requirements.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate proven success in encouraging innovation, managing stakeholder expectations and representing an organisation to a diversity of audiences. Whilst knowledge of the hospitality industry would be advantageous, of greater importance is your passion for the ongoing development of Invercargill and your ability to maintain a positive, broadly-focused public profile.
Applicants will display the following attributes:
· Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership to ensure business success.
· Effective, broad-based stakeholder management expertise.
· Proven commercial, financial and negotiation skills.
· Strong business ethics with proven ability to promote innovation.
· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain respect within a community.
· Eloquent and charismatic communication skills, with proven ability to deliver commercial and community outcomes.
This is a stimulating opportunity to lead a successful organisation that delivers tangible outcomes in the community that would not otherwise be delivered. The CEO will be passionate about the very special nature of ILT and will energetically continue to promote its advantages in the development of Invercargill.
