The Marlborough Grape Growers Cooperative is an award winning grower owned company producing bespoke wine for international customers using their label and consumer market specification. Reporting to the Directors, you will champion and deliver the vision, direction and exceed expectations of members and customers. This role leads and drives sales channel growth and execution of the strategic plan through long term partnerships with a diverse range of international customers. Through the development and implementation of innovative digital marketing and sales strategies, including CRM implementation and efficient management of operations, you will maximise returns to growers while achieving the organisation’s longer term goals. In addition, the CEO is accountable to the Board for financial direction and outcomes including in depth cost benefit analysis that articulates value creation for members. The CEO will manage all contracts with growers and customers, whilst identifying and delivering revenue and operational innovation in order to exceed the Cooperative’s profit and growth targets.
Your Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will be a strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture, build strategy, communicate, influence and lead key stakeholders including executing business plans. You will have proven international marketing experience, understand variable customer journeys and have the skills to utilise various digital and other mediums to drive the commercial outcomes for the Cooperative.
You will have excellent relationship management skills to effectively partner with international customers, local growers and key stakeholders to scale a profitable export business by taking new and existing products into existing and new international and domestic markets. In addition you will have excellent commercial acumen with experience in supplier and customer contract negotiations.
Strong financial management, modelling, forecasting and business planning experience is essential with a focus on activities and strategies which articulate the value for members. You will need to have the flexibility to travel, be well connected, globally focused, innovative with a genuine care for the environment, our land and our people. You will possess high energy and a growth mindset, as well as an exceptional track record in building strong relationships and leading internally and externally.
