Irrigation NZ is a not-for-profit membership organisation that provides advocacy, data collection and analysis, industry liaison, training and promotes innovation.
Based at the Head Office in Lincoln, the CEO is a key driver in policy working groups and industry initiatives to improve communications and outcomes on behalf of farmers, growers and the irrigation sector. Working with the Board to ensure the strategy is relevant, and implementing the strategic priorities to create an environment for the responsible use of water for food and fibre production is central to the CEO’s mandate. The CEO will lead a compact team of passionate specialists involved in thought leadership, innovation, advocacy and bringing key decision makers together to determine a better tomorrow. There are a vast array of relationships to be managed from the farm paddock to the corridors of Wellington.
Suitable candidates will have proven leadership, advocacy and communication skills. They will be commercially astute and will have an affinity for the rural sector. They are likely to be experienced at influencing thinking at both a sector and national level. The appointee will have significant knowledge of the issues around water use in New Zealand. The ability to lead, drive change, add value to our members and develop partnership will also be a key to success.
To succeed in this role, you will have a passion and vision for the future possibilities of irrigation and water use to ensure sustainable and efficient food and fibre production.
