 ChristchurchNZ is the new organisation that brings together Canterbury Development Corporation (CDC), Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism (CCT), International Education and Christchurch City Council’s Major Events team.  The role of ChristchurchNZ is to provide leadership in the city’s tourism attraction, international student attraction, major events, conferences, business capability and economic development services to maximise opportunities which achieve greater prosperity for all.  The merger of these activities into a single entity provides scale and coordinated leadership to better drive prosperity, opportunity and a great quality of life in Christchurch and Canterbury.

The Chief Executive of this new organisation has a pivotal strategic leadership role at a unique time in the history of the city and the wider region.  As the city regenerates, the Chief Executive has a stimulating and significant leadership role in unlocking the region’s future and putting Christchurch back on the map as a vibrant place to visit, study, invest and live.
