Work type:

  • Lead a national body with a strong social purpose.
  • Influence across the NGO social services sector.

Social Service Providers Aotearoa (SSPA) represents some 200 community organisations working with at-risk children and young people and their families, whānau and communities across New Zealand. It supports its members through the provision of networks, information and professional development, and advocates on their behalf. A registered charity and incorporated society, SSPA’s mission is to be a centre of excellence that enhances the capability and quality of social service providers.

Due to the impending retirement of the current CEO, SSPA is seeking a new inspiring and innovative leader to continue to build on the successes of the organisation, while meeting the changing needs of its members and their communities.

You will have demonstrated leadership experience in the social sector, and an understanding of central government, blended with commercial acumen. The nature of SSPA, and its pivotal relationship with government, means that your relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills will be central to your success in this role.

The role requires a natural leader, an exceptional communicator, and someone who is comfortable to be the public face of the organisation. You’ll be known for your strategic thinking and political nous, and your commitment to the wellbeing of the communities you serve will ensure your success in this high-profile role.
