Royal New Zealand Returned and Services’ Association (RSA) has a mission to remember and care for all those impacted by service for New Zealand.  It was formed in 1916 by returning Anzacs during World War One. Today there are 182 local RSAs around the county serving more than 102,000 members. 

This role is a unique opportunity to work for an iconic New Zealand organisation that is a significant part of our culture and history.

The RSA is looking for an experienced senior leader to join the National Office of between 8 - 12 staff.  The Chief Executive will be responsible for implementing the Board’s strategic plan, developing and implementing the annual business plan, and stakeholder engagement with a diverse group of interested parties such as liked minded organisations, corporate sponsors and partners, and government agencies. It’s a great time to join the RSA as it embarks on an exciting journey to develop a professional support network.

The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and presentation skills and have experience in advocacy, reputation management, and enhancing and maintaining a positive profile for a complex organisation.

You will be an experienced people manager with a customer focus, a high level of emotional intelligence and resilience.

This role reports to the Chairman of the RSA Board and will work closely with the elected representatives and employees of local RSAs and Affiliates, which are entities in their own right.

You will need to demonstrate that you have an affinity with the RSA its goals and commitments and that you share the values of Courage, Commitment, Compassion and Comradeship.
