Reporting to the Mayor and Councillors, you will provide strategic direction and leadership to the council ensuring strong oversight of its people and resources to ignite the full potential of Selwyn’s economic base, community and future growth priorities. In addition, you will ensure the effective implementation of the Council’s programmes and policies while delivery quality outcomes for the community it serves.

To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate strong commercial leadership capability with previous, or related, local government exposure with proven experience creating a high performing and engaged culture. You will build strong relationships with stakeholders, have high EQ and can plan and deliver strategic initiatives. Ideally you will have had private sector and capital programme exposure as well as organisational innovation.
