Bring your leadership and influencing skills to the organisation positively impacting the safety of Aucklanders in, on and around water.
WaterSafe Auckland Inc (WAI), trading as Drowning Prevention Auckland, is the lead agency for water safety coordination and education in the Auckland region. Proactively engaging and delivering across three channels - community, workplace and education, the organisation informs, develops water competence and influences positive attitudes and behaviours in, on and around water, towards the vision of an Auckland, free from drowning.
Providing visionary leadership, the Chief Executive will be accountable for strategy implementation through educational quality and service delivery. Future-focus and responsiveness within the dynamic education and work environments will ensure continued best practice, operational excellence and stakeholder engagement. Strengthening existing partnerships and elevating the brand through new business relationships, the Chief Executive will identify, develop and deliver new funding and revenue streams for long-term sustainability, with effective measurement, reporting and celebration of achievements.
You will be a leader who can influence, encourage ideas and foster the culture of innovation across a team of passionate professionals. Your commercial perspective will enable you to transition strategic goals to operational actions and programme delivery, facilitating change and alert to securing new revenue opportunities. With a pragmatic outlook and recognising the rewards and challenges of the profit-for-purpose sector, you will be results-driven with financial acumen to manage, interpret and present outcomes to the Board. Across levels and sectors, you will demonstrate ability to convert relationships into partnerships, through communication of a compelling vision.
