Council operations are undergoing transformation with a new organisational structure to support these changes. The primary objective of recent changes is to deliver Council services to a higher standard, more efficiently and more affordably to ratepayers. A number of new positions have been introduced as a result, offering a unique opportunity to be in the vanguard of change to local government service delivery.
Reporting directly to the Group Manager - Infrastructure, the Capital Programme Delivery Lead is a broad and newly developed role that will enable the effective delivery of ICC’s capital works programme, with a total annual budget varying between $40 – 50 million. This role is responsible for overseeing the management of capital projects across Council from draft/approval through to implementation and delivery. Responsible for actively supporting a variety of managers, this role will focus on building and developing in-house project management capability and introducing robust project management frameworks and efficiencies. Developing and streamlining the strategic delivery of project outcomes, this senior role represents a real opportunity to shape ICC’s capital programme delivery methodology, ensuring best-practice, encouraging collaboration, and promoting a customer-centric approach.
Desirable candidates will be degree qualified with a senior level engineering background, either from a local government or relevant industry sector. Essential to this position is proven experience overseeing the programme of works for delivery of large infrastructure capital projects. Strategic planning, strong collaborative leadership, excellent organisational skills and mentoring experience, coupled with a track record of building positive stakeholder and community-based relationships, are also desired.
