Based just south of Christchurch, Synlait is a rapidly growing NZX listed company making its mark on the global dairy stage. To support their continued growth, Synlait are in the process of implementing IBP – Integrated Business Planning – an international best practice company-wide management process, proven to increase efficiency, effectiveness and profitability. IBP ensures an in-depth focus and alignment throughout all areas of the business from business development, sales, operations and supply chain including supporting functions of finance, human resources and information technology. IBP will give Synlait much more complete business management information over a 24-36 month horizon, facilitating improved levels of financial and operational performance, increasing employee engagement and driving customer satisfaction.    

The Business Development Group is responsible for new products, product strategy and refreshment, customer strategy and strategic business opportunities.  Reporting to the GM Business Development Group, the Business Manager will be responsible for commercial support for the Group, including planning, budgeting, internal group performance reporting and resource allocation.   The position will provide process administration support to the Business Development Group pipeline, overseeing the commercial and particularly benefit realisation transition of projects to business as usual.  The Business Manager will play a key role in facilitating the IBP process across the Business Development Group.  

We seek tertiary qualified candidates, with a technical, finance or business management major preferred.  Applicants of interest will have over 10 years’ experience in business/business development functional management, including exposure to international business.  Proven programme/project management experience, along with an understanding of B2C and B2B business activity is desirable, with dairy, primary or agri-sector experience also advantageous. A high level of commercial acumen is sought, coupled with the ability to authoritatively advise on the strategic implications of commercial decisions.  This rewarding and diverse position is a key senior role within the Synlait Business Development Group.
