The Associate CNM is responsible for working alongside the CNM to ensure smooth coordination of the services, empowering staff to provide high quality care to patients whilst keeping within budget constraints. This role will work closely with CNM and Manager Integrated Health Services Northern Region to ensure ministry requirements are adhered to. It will contribute to the WCDHB vision and enable the model of care to become a reality.

To be considered for this role it is essential you possess the following:
- Registered with the New Zealand Nursing Council as a Registered General or Registered Comprehensive Nurse and hold a current Nursing Council of New Zealand Practising Certificate.
- Minimum of two years of post-registration experience.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution across all disciplines and occupational groups.
- Be computer literate and have the ability to expand on those skills.
A vital part of this role will be liaison and coordination with medical consultants, GP’s, Duty Managers, the wider medical team as well as all staff on the ward. Quick and strategic thinking, problem solving, sound interpersonal skills and impeccable management of complex situations are imperative as you interact with a wide range of people in a pressured environment.
You will be; caring, empathetic, articulate, a good negotiator, flexible but decisive, consistent and astute. You will have a post graduate qualification or be working towards this in addition to being professionally intelligent, interested and engaged in the nursing profession and having the drive to ensure the success of the team model of care.
