Dunedin City Council has set a clear vision for Dunedin to be “One of the World’s Great Small Cities”.  This is focused on fostering a city with a thriving economy and a healthy environment with an active, creative, resilient and vibrant community.  The City of Dunedin is one of New Zealand’s progressive urban centres with a population of 127,000.  Renowned for its outstanding quality of life, heritage buildings and international reputation as a centre for tertiary education, it also has strengths in the primary sector, engineering and tourism.

As a key component in achieving its vision and commitment to the community, Council has committed to a significant programme of investment with both its extensive existing property portfolio and key new facilities.  This investment by Council led to a revised structure for the Property Services Team and the creation of a number of new roles, representing an exciting opportunity and not business as usual!

Reporting to the Programme Manager, this role will support the Project Managers in managing project systems in addition to the management of smaller programmes of work to successful completion.  Key outcomes for this role include assisting in the delivery of an efficient and effective project management service, and providing research, analysis and support so that projects are scoped, approved, managed, monitored and implemented with corrective actions in place to resolve any issues quickly.

Candidates will be tertiary qualified with one to two years’ work experience, including exposure to project management delivery, systems and software.  Proven experience in undertaking research, analysis and support is essential along with strong knowledge in business thinking and reporting.

This represents an exciting opportunity for a project professional to make a difference for the community and build a legacy for the future of Dunedin.
