Reporting to the Group Manager – District Assets, you will be responsible for the overall management of the assets owned and operated by the Westland District Council and for providing technical input into the strategic, tactical and operational asset management function at the council. You will deliver Asset Management Plans and associated policies and procedures to support the Long Term Planning process, ensuring asset management practices are in line with industry best practice. In addition, you will be responsible for project budgets, tenders and cost management to include oversight of resources for the execution, control and completion of the capital projects for the assets owned and operated by the Westland District Council.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will have experience in Asset Management and developing Infrastructure Strategies, ideally within or related to a Local Government environment. You will also have successfully written funding applications and have a working knowledge of the relevant New Zealand statutes and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as robust research skills with the ability to analyse datasets and infer meaningful information.
