New Zealand is the ultimate tourism destination, and Tourism New Zealand’s role is to make sure that the world knows it.

Amway China knows this, and in April this year New Zealand’s Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, the honourable John Key, announced that Amway will be sending 10,000 of its elite sales people to Queenstown in 2018 for five days, as part of their Incentive Programme. The total value of this comprehensive Travel Incentive Programme is estimated to be worth more than NZ$50 million.

We are now looking for a high calibre Account Manager/Project Manager to coordinate and deliver this major tourism project. The Key Account Manager will have strong big-project management experience, exceptional relationship management skills and will be equally comfortable in the Boardroom, and in the field. Further, the Key Account Manager should have related travel industry experience, for what will be a highly visible role in both the China and New Zealand tourism industries.

This project will be the biggest incentive tourism event in New Zealand’s business events history. The Key Account Manager will be the interface between Amway China, Tourism New Zealand and Destination Queenstown; and will also coordinate the activities and inputs of New Zealand entities such as Air New Zealand, Immigration New Zealand and New Zealand RTO’s.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years commercial experience of leading an international consumer brand, travel or incentive business, and finely tuned key account management/project management expertise. An understanding of New Zealand’s geography, tourism attractions and New Zealand ways of working would be advantageous.

The role is based in NZ Tourism’s office in Shanghai. The Key Account Manager will be fluent in Mandarin and English, written and verbal. There will be significant travel, to meet all the project stakeholders.
