The New Zealand High Commission in the Cook Islands is seeking an experienced Administration Manager to manage the Rarotonga office. This rare leadership opportunity would suit someone with over ten years’ experience, looking for a locally employed, open tenure role.
From diplomacy and consular support to development and disaster relief, our work is diverse and fascinating. With 13 staff working with the High Commission, your job would be to manage the office to ensure the smooth operation of our post and the provision of consular services to New Zealanders. This includes
• managing a team of 7 staff
• managing post human resources, budget forecasting and management
• ensuring compliance with all finance process guidelines and internal controls
• undertaking and overseeing consular services and assistance
• strengthening office systems and processes
You would also be a member of the post management team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced manager and administrator wanting to contribute to New Zealand’s representation in the Cook Islands. The right person for this role will be energetic, pro-active and innovative with good attention to detail and a strong customer focus. They would be an excellent people manager, able to get the best from their team and they would be familiar with working in a public sector environment. The ideal applicant would have good knowledge of the Cook Islands and be well organised, efficient, a good writer and have strong project management skills.
The successful applicant will be employed on local terms and conditions and must have the right to work in the Cook Islands. Any offer of employment is subject to the grant of a work permit by Cook Islands Immigration. In addition any relocation to Rarotonga or accommodation requirements are to be undertaken at the expense of the applicant.
