WW100 Centenary Drinks Reception with NZWA and NZSUK
Monday 4th August 2014 marks the centenary of the commencement of the First World War. New Zealand's participation is being commemorated through commemorative events, projects and activities in all parts of New Zealand and abroad from 2014 to 2019.
The New Zealand Society, along with other London based New Zealand community groups are working to support the Government with it's UK projects.
We are delighted to be joining the New Zealand Women's Association for their Summer Drinks at New Zealand House, where a painting by New Zealand Artist Mandii Pope will be auctioned. Funds raised will be contributed to a WW100 UK based project which will continue to share the important stories of New Zealand's contribution.
The painting auctioned is of Clarence House, residence of HRH The Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall and was painted in part (a window or two) by the Duchess of Cornwall at the NZWA's Waitangi Day drinks reception earlier this year.
