A Red (that’s not red) and a Blue (that’s not Blue)
The February edition of the Maltby St wine tastings in Bermondsey at Lassco Ropewalk Maltby St. Hosted by Kiwi Philip Morton; founder of M-Wines.
Philip will be joined by Debra Kemp, a cheese expert who (rather bravely) sells British Cheese in France. Her choices (both British and French) will be matched with wines from around the world to help you learn more about your palate and find a combination you will love.
A Red Leicester (that’s not red) made by David and Jo Clarke of Sparkenhoe farm in South West Leicestershire. A blue (that’s not blue) made by Wildes Cheese in (wait for it) Tottenham of course. These plus 3 other cheese and wine pairings, a welcome drink, a little food, prizes and discounts on M-Wines.
This evening event includes:
• Welcome drink
• 5 wines / 5 Cheeses
• Light food / canapés
• Prizes and discounts on M-Wines
• A little education and a lot of fun!
£30 per person, tickets are available in advance from M-Wines Stand at the Maltby St Market and mwines.com (No Door Sales)
M-Wines tastings are held monthly at Lassco Ropewalk Maltby St on the 3rd Wed of the month. They are public and there is no official wine club. The theme is always chosen by the previous group, which offers a great variety of tastings over the months.
The philosophy of M-Wines is to search out and celebrate the passion and craft of talented winemakers and growers. The same goes for our food pairings at our tastings.
Recent tastings have been: Wines of 7 Rugby Nations, Chocolate and Wine matching and an Introduction to food and wine matching – matching foods from Maltby St Market stallholders.
