THE WAITANGI DAY CHARITY BALL
The New Zealand Society are guardians of this most spectacular annual event. We will be celebrating our long and rich history which spans some 88 years, in one of London’s most stunning venues, as well as acknowledging the 175th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.
The initial aims of the Society were to celebrate what it meant to be a New Zealander in England, and to promote trade between the two countries. The New Zealand Society of today seeks to provide unique opportunities for Kiwis, as well as those who have an interest in New Zealand, and to network and meet socially.
The Society’s motto is “Ki te taumata, Aotearoa ki Ingarangi” — “Celebrating New Zealand in England” : a proud tradition that continues to this day.
Highlights of the evening include our special guest speaker, the presentation of the 2015 UK New Zealander of the Year Award, as well as a sparkling evening of New Zealand wine and food, and our famous Charity Raffle and Silent Auction with prizes donated by New Zealand owned or operated businesses.
All net proceeds from the Silent Auction and our Charity Raffle go to the New Zealand Society’s Charitable Fund.
2014 saw 260 guests enjoy a spectacular event celebrating New Zealand in England, with £15,000 raised for the Charitable Fund
Nominations are now open for the UK New Zealander of the Year Award 2015
