VIP Roundtable: Opportunities in Southeast Queensland
The Canada, Australia, & New Zealand Business Association (CANZBA) in conjunction with Logan City Council, City of Logan, Queensland Australia invite you to attend the Opportunities in Southeast Queensland, Australia information session that will take place in Vancouver on Wednesday October 29, 2014.
Logan City Council Mayor Pam Parker and Garnet Radford of the Logan Office of Economic Development will provide an overview on major projects, investment and procurement opportunities in both the City of Logan as well as Southeast Queensland in various sectors including, but not limited to:
Transport and Logistics;
Major sporting precincts, tourism projects and events (including the 2018 Commonwealth Games);
Large Health & Medical projects;
Development and Construction (commercial and residential); and
Major infrastructure projects.
With a population exceeding 300,000, the City of Logan is between the cities of Brisbane (capital city - 2 million) and Gold Coast (550,000). Logan City Council is one of Australia’s largest Councils with more than 1500 staff and a capital works and operating budget exceeding $800 million. Southeast Queensland is the economic hub for Queensland and pillar industries include mining and gas, agriculture, education and tourism and, of note, Brisbane will be hosting the G20 summit in November.
