Toronto International Film Festival featuring Kiwi films
TiFF has invited three New Zealand films to premiere at this year's festival. Tammy Davis’ Born To Dance and Leanne Pooley’s 25 April will have their World Premieres at the festival, and it will be a North American Premiere for Pietra Brettkelly’s A Flickering Truth, following on from its World Premiere in Venice. Directed by Tammy Davis and produced by Jill Macnab, Leanne Saunders and Daniel Story, Born to Dance features some of the world’s top hip hop dancers with choreography by world champion Parris Goebel. Cinema Management Group is handling world sales for Born to Dance. Vendetta will distribute in New Zealand and Australia. 25 April is directed by Leanne Pooley and produced by Matthew Metcalfe with animation by Auckland’s Flux Animation Studios. The film tells the story of New Zealand's WWI experience at Gallipoli through the letters and diaries of some of those who served in the campaign. K5 International is handling world sales for 25 April. Transmission wil distribute in New Zealand and Australia. TiFF runs from 10 - 20 September.
