One such business, Southern Photonics in collaboration with the University of Auckland has developed a femtosecond laser suitable for microscopy and materials processing with unprecedented reliability. This is a world leading product but needs to be further developed to enable us to offer a higher power system suitable for direct application. We plan to set up a spin off company to exploit this opportunity and to work with overseas partners in the rapidly growing world market for these systems.

Enjoy canapés either side, and an opportunity to touch the tech and talk to founders.
