Techweek AKL 2016 - Grow North 60-second pitch competition and networking event

Join the North Auckland business community for a pitch competition (Demo Day) and networking event. Hear new entrepreneurs make 60-second pitches to sell their idea to you as they compete for some great prizes. Offer your expertise and connections to an entrepreneur to help them succeed. Guest speaker Paul Cameron, CEO and co-founder of Booktrack, will share the story of this multi-award winning company that is expanding in to the US market. Booktrack has developed the technology for a new category of digital entertainment content that provides synchronized movie-style soundtracks to eBook and Audiobooks. Dr Rebecca Gill (Massey University) will describe how a smart innovation district is being fostered in Auckland North. Dr. Gill draws on her study of innovation regions and ecosystems in the  United States, and how regions try to recreate versions of ‘Silicon Valley’ with their own  unique, local twist added.  Canapes and drinks will be served at this celebration of Auckland North innovation.
