The Royal Ascot will be held from Tuesday 16 June to Saturday 20 June 2015. The New Zealand High Commission is invited to submit a list of New Zealand nationals who wish to attend Royal Ascot in the Royal Enclosure. We run a ballot for this privilege. The successful applicants will receive a badge request form which will entitle you to buy tickets for the Royal Enclosure. More details are below.
Please DO NOT APPLY YET to be considered for a badge request form. Please monitor the news section on the home page of this website for more information and for application dates.
Because of the high demand and security requirements for the Royal Enclosure, we are required to undertake a rigorous application process.
To apply for tickets in 2015 you will need to:
Complete and print an application form which will be accessed by a link when applications open
Enclose a photocopy of the photo page of your New Zealand passport
Supply a letter of recommendation
You will need to send all three documents and a self addressed envelope to the Consular Adviser, New Zealand House, 80 Haymarket, SW1Y 4TQ by the advertised closing date. Please also note that guests must be in your immediate dependent family.
Letters of recommendation are an important part of your application. They should:
be from a professional person who has known the applicant at least two years, e.g. Members of Parliament, Justices of the Peace, public servants, military personnel, doctors, lawyers, accountants, teachers.
provide a character reference and confirm your suitability to attend Royal Ascot.
preferably be on letterhead.
include full contact details for your referee, including occupation and passport number.
Letters from members of the applicant's immediate family and employment references are not acceptable.
It is preferable that the referee is also a New Zealand citizen, but not absolutely necessary.
If letters of recommendation do not meet these requirements or are poorly presented, your application will be rejected. Please note that married couples do not need separate letters of recommendation but the letters must refer to both partners.
Children between the ages of 10 - 16 years inclusive are not admitted to the Royal Enclosure, except on the Friday or Saturday of the Royal Meeting when they may accompany an adult who has a Royal Enclosure Badge. Children’s badges (within this age group) are free of charge and can be collected on Friday/Saturday from any of the Royal Enclosure Enquiry Offices.
