There are two Queen's Birthday Parade ceremonies - the Colonel's Review, which is the final dress rehearsal, and Trooping the Colour, which the Queen attends. Every year the New Zealand High Commission is allocated a very limited number of tickets for New Zealand citizens to attend the two parades. Both events commence around mid-morning in Horse Guards Parade between Whitehall and St James’s Park, London. The parade lasts approximately one hour, but you will be at Horse Guards for around two hours.
The dates and costs in 2015 will be:
Colonel’s Review: Saturday 06 June 2015
Salute taken by HRH The Prince of Wales
Cost: £10 each ticket
Trooping of the Colour: Saturday 13 June 2015
Salute taken by HM The Queen
Cost: £30 each ticket
Tickets and Prices
We anticipate the ballot for tickets to open in early March 2015. Please monitor the news section on the home page of this website for dates and information.
There are strict conditions and requirements for applications. We strongly advise that you read the eligibility and application criteria very carefully before submitting your application.
The basic requirements are:
The principal applicant must be a New Zealander with a New Zealand passport.
You must only apply once as the principal applicant. The proposed guest should not apply separately.
You must not apply if you have attended Trooping of the Colour previously.
Any children attending must occupy an individual seat. (Please note this event is not suitable for young children.)
Tickets are non-transferable. No money can be refunded if the ceremony is cancelled for reasons beyond the control of the organiser.
Successful ballot applicants are advised by email. Please note that we receive on average four times more applications than we have tickets available.
If successful in the ballot, payment can be made either by posting a verified cheque (provide your credit card details on the reverse, or use a bank cheque) to the New Zealand High Commission; or by verified cheque or cash payment in person at the High Commission on dates yet to be determined. The High Commission is not able to accept credit or debit card payments.
Payment information will be repeated on the email sent to the successful applicants.
Please note that this ballot is for seated tickets at Horseguards Parade. The public may watch the parade to and from Buckingham Palace without a ticket from standing space along its route. Further information about the parade is available at www.householddivision.org.uk
