Coomera Netball Club and the North Gold Coast Netball Association have organised a huge fundraising day on Saturday August 16 for the beautiful McKenzie Tamala. McKenzie , her mum Sheryl and big sister Shea'Jah have been an integral part of Coomera Netball Club since its inception in 2009. McKenzie lives a life trapped in a body she cannot control. McKenzie is unable to sit, talk or walk and unable to drink and eat without the aid of feeding tubes. After many years of attending specialist appointments a clear diagnosis has still not been given. Specialists are unable to control McKenzie's body movements with medication and the next step for McKenzie is Deep Brain stimulation which is a very expensive procedure. Over $40,000 is needed for McKenzie to have this treatment and post operation therapy to give her the best chance at some quality of life.
The Play For McKenzie Day Committee have been extremely busy and there are many fundraising activities planned for the day. The Committee are still in desperate need for donation items, in particular 'Scratchy Cards' ,as well as cans or bottles of alcohol which we can place in a wheelbarrow and raffle on the day. If you are able to assist, any donation items can be given to any committee member at training or on game day.
Remember to wear Purple (McKenzie's signature colour) on August 16 to show your support.
