NZ Chamber Singapore | Launch Pad: Asian Business – Culture, Customs and Etiquette

New Zealand Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with AustCham, presents a four-part series covering key issues for members who are, or plan to start-up a business in Singapore.

Members can learn and engage with experienced industry experts in an intimate and informal setting with opportunity for Q&A at each session.

In this session, we will discuss the Asian Business, it’s culture, customs and etiquette. Learn about:

  • How our antipodean culture might need to be adapted for an Asian context
  • The real meaning behind the words we hear
  • The importance of building trust and relationships
  • How to gain confidence in a business/social setting

Workshop content:

  1. Mind the (cultural) gap
  2. Recognizing (and celebrating) the differences in Asia
  3. Pitfalls and opportunities in creating relationships
  4. Etiquette and conversations
  5. Using names and cards
