New Zealand Youth Choir at St John's Smith Square

New Zealand Youth Choir at St John's Smith Square

On Tuesday, 12 July the choir will give a concert in St John's Smith Square at 7.30pm. The choir will be presenting an eclectic repertoire of music ranging from the anthem ‘Ecce vicit leo’ by Peter Phillips, Mendelssohn’s ‘Ehre sei Gott in der Höhe’, Shakespeare settings by Vaughan Williams and Matthew Harris through to contemporary New Zealand music by David Hamilton and Tuirina Wehi.

Of all New Zealand’s musical icons, the New Zealand Youth Choir with its members aged 18 to 25 has, more than any other, showcased the country’s youth and music in its 36-year history. The European Tour in 2016 will be the Choir’s eleventh overseas trip and its fifth visit to the UK.
