On Saturday, 9 July at 6.00pm the NZ Youth Choir will participate in the celebration of Mass at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. For the first time an all-Kiwi programme of music will accompany the celebration of Mass in this most illustrious building. The programme will include David Griffiths’ Beata Virgo, Andrew Baldwin’s Kyrie, Agnus Dei and Sanctus from his Petite Mass, and a specially commissioned Communion motet from David Hamilton, a setting of Ave verum corpus, will be premiered.
Of all New Zealand’s musical icons, the NZ Youth Choir has showcased more than any other the country’s youth and music in its 36-year history. The European Tour in 2016 will be the Choir’s 11th overseas trip.
