The Te Huarahi Tika Trust (the Trust) / Māori Spectrum Trust, is hosting a breakfast roundtable event for Māori digital/IT businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals who work and operate in the Wellington area.
This is an chance to come together and meet other Māori in Tech, to share best practice, to explore opportunities to work collaboratively, and to generate some thinking around the notion of "innovation that's good for Te Ao Māori".
Come and share your stories about what you're doing and what technology you're using. Come and share your dreams and aspirations, your successes, and any issues you're facing. And come and hear others' stories as well.
For example, did you know that the Te Huarahi Tika Trust owns a block of 4G spectrum and is responsible for bringing 2degrees into Aotearoa? Did you know that caused the then incumbent telcos to price their products and services more competitively/cheaper? At the moment, the government is considering the 5G spectrum allocations, and so the Trust would like to hear your whakaaro about what innovations, opportunities, and benefits could accrue for Māori if Māori owned a block of 5G spectrum.
On the back of this kōrero, the Trust would like to explore the possibility of creating a Wellington-based Māori ICT practitioners' cluster, and to provide a home for the cluster; a place to meet regularly to kōrero anō, tautoko ki a tātou, whakakotahi with each other, and to provide manaakitanga. A place where we can think, talk, act, and deliver as Māori in all areas of the IT/Digital world.
Nau mai, haere mai, kōrero mai, whakarongo mai, mahi tahi mai, tautoko mai, manaaki mai.
Come, meet, talk, listen, collaborate, support, encourage each other, and enjoy some kai.
Tickets are limited to 30 so please send an email to sign up. You can do this by clicking the 'contact' or 'attend' buttons.
