Calling all Kiwis, honorary Kiwis, and friends of New Zealand...
Since their respective founding’s the great cities of Hong Kong and Shanghai have enjoyed a friendly and fierce rivalry competing for the number one city of Greater China and Asia. Until the middle of the 20th century things were pretty even until Hong Kong pulled away to become Asia’s world city and the glittering metropolis that we know and love today.
Whilst their respective fortunes may rise and fall, the kiwi presence in both these cities has been growing over time and many thousands of us now live, work, and play in two of the most exciting cities of the world.
In the interests of promoting ties between the kiwi communities in the two cities, the New Zealand Society of Hong Kong is pleased to partner with its counterpart in
Shanghai, KiwiConnect, to bring you KiwiBall 2014!
Held on October 25th in the grand ballroom of the superb Kerry Pudong in Shanghai, attendees will enjoy a night of sublime decadence featuring a plated dinner par-excellence, free-flow alcohol and soft-drinks, and the hottest entertainment that the Orient has ever seen featuring the sauciest burlesque and cabaret group this side of Paris, a live band to get people out onto the dance- floor, and a renowned Shanghai DJ to keep the party going well into the early hours, as well as a few other surprises. What better way to enjoy a cool autumn evening that with a fantastic night of revelry, dinner, drinking, and dancing as a treat for getting through the summer!
All of the fantastic food, delicious drink, and excellent entertainment is in support of an organisation called Love Without Boundaries, a registered charity that partners with the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University to fund life-saving treatment to orphaned children and children from poor families. A silent auction will be running on the night to raise money for this organisation and more information about them can be found at their website; www.lovewithoutboundaries.com.
