Kea Inspire: Bryan Williams CNZM MBE ‘New Zealand - A Love of Sport’
How does a nation of 4.6 million people have such great impact in the world of sport? What does sport contribute to our communities, society, identity and economy? A Kea Inspire Event with former All Black and all-time great, Bryan ‘Beegee’ Williams, with fellow former All Black Ali Williams joining the question and answer session hosted by BBC presenter David Eades. Bryan was thrust into the international spotlight as a 19 year old try scoring phenomenon on the All Black tour to South Africa in 1970 and his name has remained top of mind locally, nationally and internationally as a player, coach and administrator ever since. As ambassador for The World Masters Games, Bryan is here to spread the word on the biggest sporting event New Zealand will experience in the next decade, whilst sharing stories from his career and life involvement in the world of sport. Ali Williams has recently finished his time at French giants Toulon, walking away with winners medals from the 2014 French Top 14 and European Cup. Add that to his long list of achievements in New Zealand – Super Rugby titles with the Blues in 2003 and the Crusaders in 2008 and a 2011 World Cup win with the All Blacks – the 77-test veteran recently moved to London with his family. Our MC for the evening is BBC Presenter David Eades, who has vast experience as a correspondent and presenter. Covering events from the death of Princess Diana, to the Good Friday Agreement in Ireland. He has also been the BBC's Senior Sports News Correspondent, breaking stories in cricket corruption, financial scandal within FIFA, as well as covering the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cups and many other major events. If you have a specific topic or question you would like David Eades to discuss at the Q&A panel, please email it to uk@keanewzealand.com. We will do our best to incorporate as many of your questions as we can. Spaces are limited. This event is open to Kea & non-Kea members on a first come basis. Tickets will be £30 for Kea members and £40 for non-members. Drinks and canapés will be served and all guests are welcomed to stay and network until 9pm. Event Sponsored by World Masters Games 2017. Award winning beverages generously served by The Beer Collective. Inspire London is part of Kea's global Inspire series featuring internationally-renowned New Zealanders taking on the world. We hope to see you there.
