Katchafire is on the road again! The legendary roots rockers from New Zealand are live at Max Watt’s on 14 October with special guests Tiki Taane and L.A.B.. With the band ready to share fresh new music and fresh new vibes to Aussie crowds, get ready to experience the high-energy genre blast that is Katchafire.

Hailing from the mighty H-Town (Hamilton), Aoteoroa, Katchafire have become a global roots reggae phenomenon.  The all Maori Reggae band bring their pure classic sound to music lovers worldwide, delivering one of the most authentic Reggae shows around today.

Four highly successful studio albums, multiple awards, platinum sales, highest selling singles, and the list goes on.  Their sound is built on the foundations of classic roots reggae with an R’n’B and funk rub, mashing modern dancehall and slinky reggae pop. Katchafire has crafted a universal vibe, capturing something truly special in a diversity of instrumentation and clarity of sound.

L.A.B. is an incarnation of the popular KORA brothers Brad and Stu, plus talented jazz guitarist Joel Shadbolt and Sunshine Sound System's Kyle Popham (KP).

Tiki Taane is one of the New Zealand’s most well-known and diverse artists and producers, Tiki Taane is considered a pioneer in the NZ music scene, first rising to prominence as live engineer & eventually frontman of leading band Salmonella Dub in 1996 before embarking on his solo career in 2007. Tiki’s musical influences and appeal are broad, traversing from dubstep, reggae, drum n bass and hip-hop, to more contemporary pop/rock sensibilities. No matter the set he performs, or which country he performs in, the audience is always reminded of the sheer power of Tiki’s ability to unify, warm and wow as he seamlessly delivers a unique performance experience.
