A series of 19 workshops will be held in every RTO region in the North Island from April to July 2014.
The focus will be on providing operators with an interactive workshop on how to provide the best service to Chinese visitors, run by Amy Adams from Occam consulting.
Tourism New Zealand will provide an overview of the China market and how to use the recently launched China Toolkit website www.chinatoolkit.co.nz
Each workshop runs for four hours.
Regional Introduction (presented by Regional Tourism Organisation) - 15 minutes.
China Toolkit Operation/Market Trends (presented by Tourism New Zealand, Paul Yeo) - 45 minutes.
China Visitor Skills utilising Toolkit (presented by Occam, Amy Adams) 2 hours and 30 minutes:
Intro to Chinese market
Ethics, Values & Relationships - working with customers
Customizing - language, accommodation, activities, retail, food
Etiquette - meeting, seating, colours & numbers
Marketing- social media & other online tools
Break for lunch or morning/afternoon tea - 30 minutes
