Friends of New Zealand Art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales

Friends of New Zealand Art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales
Michael Brand, Director, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Andrew Cameron, Chair of the Board of the Art Gallery of New South Wales Foundation, and Justin Paton, Head Curator of International Art, have pleasure in inviting you to a special cocktail event to celebrate the recent acquisition of Teaching aids 2 (July) 1975, an important work by renowned New Zealand artist Colin McCahon, and to launch a new group dedicated to building a New Zealand art collection in Sydney and strengthening ties between our countries and their art: the Friends of New Zealand Art at the Art Gallery of NSW. Join us in the week of Sydney’s art fairs to enjoy New Zealand art, food, wine and cocktails; to hear an exclusive update from Director Michael Brand on the planned Sydney Modern expansion for 2021; and to learn more about the development of a New Zealand collection at Art Gallery of NSW.
