Engineering world-wide: from New Zealand UC post-earthquake Student Army to English floods

Engineering world-wide: from New Zealand UC post-earthquake Student Army to English floods

Featuring our speaker: Fritha Bevin-McCrimmon, BEng (Civil) (Hons)

Please join the New Zealand Universities Graduates' Association for an evening of socialising and an informal buffet supper, followed by an address from our speaker, Fritha Bevin-McCrimmon, winner of the 2018 WISE Rising Star Award. The event is open to all; members, non-members and non-graduates are all equally welcome.

Fritha, originally from New Zealand, now lives in the UK and is successfully adjusting to life here. She will speak to us about how post-earthquake Christchurch prepared her to deal with the North of England's worst floods in a decade - in her first week on the job. Fritha has also spent time volunteering on projects with young girls and STEM engagement to inspire them to work in engineering and scientific fields. Very appropriate speaker for an event that also happens to be held on International Women’s Day.
