“Creative Parents, Creative Kids : Shanghai” is the parenting skills concept of Kiwi Joby Barnham and his wife Sue Ann Wang – it encompasses New Zealand parenting concepts and applies it to modern China.
“I grew up in China, but began parenting in New Zealand”, says Sue Ann. “While there I learned how joyful and simple raising two boys could be with the right knowledge and thinking.”
Sue Ann now wants to share with parents in China how joyful parenting can be." I noticed when I returned to China that most of the Chinese grand parents are looking after the grand child for their children. With my experience in New Zealand as (President of the Te Puke Playcentre) I realised that not coping with parenting is a modern problem in China, and that can be fixed.
Together Joby and Sue Ann are running a series of discussion groups covering a early childhood related topics for children 0-6 years. "We'll discuss things like how sleep patterns can be improved and we'll get to know other fantastic parents who want to be the best they can be in developing their child", says Sue Ann.
