After the success of his debut album Forever Dolphin Love, Connan’s career has seen him tour with Radiohead and Charlotte Gainsbourg and have songs covered by the likes of David Byrne and Anna Calvi.
His most recent album, Caramel, explores different regions of his galaxy. It brings not just soul but a brew of blues, funk, ambient and folk, with pronounced eastern and Gallic timbres, all laced with an uncanny air of bliss.
Support comes from NZCA LINES, whose album Infinite Summerwas released in January.
It sees Michael Lovett joined by Charlotte Hatherley (Bat For Lashes, Ash) and Sarah Jones (Hot Chip), for a record that marries sci-fi futurism and personal intimacies.
