About the Speakers Li Gang Liu - Chief Economist Greater China Li Gang is ANZ's Chief Economist Greater China and Head of Greater China Economics team that provides macroeconomic analysis, insights into RMB/CNH and interest rate developments, forecasts, and industry and thematic reports. The team’s growing capability and coverage reflects Greater China’s position as a key market within ANZ’s super-regional strategy and investor interest in RMB internationalisation and the CNH market. Li Gang's views on the Chinese economy have been cited widely by international and Chinese press. He is also an invited columnist for FTChinese.com and contributes regularly to Caijing, Caixin, and the Shanghai Securities Journal. His previous professional experience includes roles at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority; the Asian Development Bank Institute in Tokyo; the Office of Chief Economist for the East Asian and Pacific Region, the World Bank Group; and the Peterson Institute for International Economics, Washington DC. He holds a PhD in Economics from Johns Hopkins University, USA. Mark Pervan - Head of Commodity Research As ANZ’s Head of Commodity and Industry Research, Mark sets the strategy and price forecasts for the metal and energy markets. He has been involved in the research of Australian listed mining companies and global commodity markets for the past 15 years with strong relationships within the Australian resources sector and travels regularly to Asia to promote ANZ’s commodity business and to conduct on-the-ground research. His Commodity Strategy team covers major hard and soft commodity and energy markets. ANZ’s extensive list of natural resources clients, together with its strong Asian presence, provides the team with unique insights into commodity markets. Prior to joining ANZ in August 2007, Mark worked for nine years as the Australian resources analyst and global commodity strategist for Japanese Investment Bank, Daiwa Securities SMBC. In his last four years with Daiwa he was Australian Head of Research. Prior to Daiwa, he worked for four years with ABN AMRO as the bank's Australian gold and metals mining analyst. Mark grew up in New Zealand, graduating from the University of Victoria with a double major in Finance and Economics.
