Aotearoa Māori Film Festival

Aotearoa Māori Film Festival
The Aotearoa Māori Film Festival is proud to present this year’s collection of films, talks and rangatahi (youth) workshops. This year we are honoured to welcome in partnership with us the Australian Museum. Leo Koziol of Wairoa Film Festival (NZ) has curated an exquisite selection of short films by Maori film makers. As our feature film we present the box office hit, action thriller “The Deadlands”, given 14 nominations in the NZ Film Awards. Moana Sukkar said “…as a cohort, this years selection of films are well crafted, beautifully shot and flawless in their delivery”. In the depth and breadth of their imagery, these films mark a new milestone in Māori digital story telling. Our rangatahi film making workshop is taught by film makers, actors, performance artists who are qualified, experienced and love what they do.
