This year marks the 100th anniversary of the landings at Gallipoli and on Saturday 25 April 2015, the Australian and New Zealand High Commissions will host the Anzac Day Commemorative Dawn Service at the Tugu Negara (National Monument), Lake Gardens, Juala Lumpur).
Anzac Day marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
The Dawn Service is open to all members of the public and those attending are requested to be assembled by 6:00am for the service to commemorate at 6:30am. Dress for the occasion will be lounge suit or smart casual for civilians (with medals if applicable) and ceremonial uniform, with medals, for military attendees. Guests are advised to apply mosquito repellent and carry a small torch. Candles will be provided for the service.
Following the service, Their Excellences Dr John Subritzky, New Zealand High Commissioner, and Mr Rod Smith, Australian High Commissioner, will host a traditional gunfire breakfast at the New Zealand Residence. 15 Jalan Langgak.
