The Link Foundation for UK-NZ Relations (formerly the Waitangi Foundation) aims to strengthen the relationship between the United Kingdom and New Zealand by fostering educational and cultural exchange.
The Foundation’s core role is in vocational exchanges where it has provided well over 100 individual fellowships in both directions in the past ten years. Vocational fields covered by the Foundation include: agriculture and horticulture, the arts, climate, conservation and the environment, design and architecture, financial services and investment, geology, international relations, science and technology and social and legal policy.
The Foundation was established as a permanent legacy of New Zealand’s 1990 celebrations, which marked the 150th anniversary of the signing of New Zealand’s founding treaty, the Treaty of Waitangi.
