Contemporary HUM is the first web-based platform dedicated to the critical discussion and documentation of New Zealand visual art practices (and other creative disciplines) in the international context.
HUM discusses, promotes and documents New Zealand arts internationally in the two sections of its website:
1. Commissioned writing including essays, reviews, articles, interviews and opinions, providing critical discussion, in-depth study and high-quality interpretation of NZ-related projects abroad. We work with New Zealand writers who are temporarily or permanently overseas, and with international writers, curators and artists.
2. A calendar of events, listing exhibitions, residencies and projects involving NZ artists and art professionals worldwide
By providing a critically rigorous platform, HUM aims to increase the visibility of New Zealand’s contribution to the global art scene, to support and nurture the success of New Zealand artists and art professionals, and to encourage knowledge sharing.
