Dame Malvina Major Concert & Dinner

A truly unmissable evening for New Zealanders and opera-lovers in the heart of London - Friday 10 September 2010.

Dame Malvina Major, the first of New Zealand's divas to achieve world fame as an opera singer, and a quartet of young New Zealand artists will perform in the magical, medieval Crypt of St Etheldreda in Ely Place, Holborn, adjoining the Bleeding Heart Yard. 

Dame Malvina is best remembered in London for her starring role as Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus at Covent Garden.

Starting with canapes created by Peter Gordon of Providores, followed with a four-course gourmet dinner from Bleeding Heart and accompanied by award-winning wines from Trinity Hill, the evening will feature Dame Malvina and her four proteges: Hadleigh Adams, baritone; Anna Argyle, soprano; Andrew Grenon, tenor; and Polly Ott, soprano; with Kirsten Simpson, pianist.

All profits from the event will go to the Dame Malvina Major Foundation and the NZ-UK Young Chef's Culinary Challenge.
