Kiwi Landing Pad and Rt Honorable Mike Moore (San Francisco)
The Kiwi Landing Pad is a hub for New Zealand technology companies to easily expand their operations into the US market. The venture is backed by Trade Me founder Sam Morgan, Stephen Tindall's investment company K1W1, and American tech billionaire Peter Thiel. The initiative is supported by the New Zealand government and John Holt of Sonar 6 is the Executive Director.
On September 16th we will be having the next Kea event to introduce some of the innovative technology companies, from Kiwi Landing Pad, to our Kea community. Also in attendance will be the New Zealand Ambassador to the United States, the Rt Honorable Mike Moore.

The line up:
Vaughan Roswell, famous for his mustache, is the founder and CEO of Vend (www.vendhq.com). Vend is backed by Trade Me founder Sam Morgan and provides point-of-sale (POS) software that runs online, within a web browser. It works on any device or platform, including an iPad, or even existing POS hardware, and with any payment technology, whether it is card swipe, NFC, mobile wallets, loyalty cards... even cash.
Craig Walker is CTO and the first employee of small business accounting software provider Xero (www.xero.com) which listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange in 2007. Craig earned the New Zealand Hi-Tech Young Achiever of the Year award in 2007 and has a history of operating as a virtual CTO for entrepreneurs & start-ups, offering strategic technology advice and expertise. Craig leads Xero's software development team and technology infrastructure and has spent his career building mission critical Internet applications, including co-founding software-as-a-service provider Viatx and working for leading Microsoft consulting firm Glazier Systems.
Aish Fenton is the CTO and Co-Founder at vWorkapp (www.vworkapp.com). vWorkapp a web-based dispatch tool for professional services companies. The software lets you dispatch and manage work to your field staff, and provides reports that summarize the work done, by who, for whom. vWorkapp uses a PDA (actually an iPhone) in the field to send workers their jobs and to get real-time updates back to the software. vWorkapp also optionally provides GPS tracking.
Rt Honourable Mike Moore, New Zealand's Ambassador to the United States, will be in attendance. Ambassador Moore is the former Prime Minister of New Zealand and former Director-General of the World Trade Organization. He began his political career in 1972 when he was elected as a MP, the youngest ever in New Zealand history. As well as having a very distinguished political career Ambassador Moore has authored several books including: A Brief History of the Future, Fighting for New Zealand, and A world without Limits. Ambassador Moore is also a member of the Privy council.
