Kea South Africa Committee

Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson - To be elected
This role is responsible for ensuring growth and sustainability for Kea South Africa. It will act as conduit for interested parties such as NZ High Commission in Pretoria, Kea New Zealand, NZTE and any NZ owned companies operating in sub-Saharan Africa in areas of sponsorship and guidance.  

Maxine Purchase will be seeking to encourage individual and corporate membership growth through committee representative. She will also ensure all SA members are registered on the Kea International membership role.

John Viera will manage the administrative, financial and corporate governance functions. He will also be seeking sponsors, organising Kea functions and ensure compliance for legal issues.   

Katherine Grant, John Rahme, Hugh Hopkins, Mike McWha, Rick Wilson and Mike Walsh will jointly maintain trade communications with Pretoria High Commission, Kea Auckland and NZTE (New Zealand Trade Enterprises). They will also be involved in sourcing local expertise when necessary and meeting Kiwi entrepreneurs on their visits.  

Bernie Hanaray will act as the Branch Liaison. He is currently liaising with Cape and Kwa Zulu Natal members to encourage them to form branch steering committees with the aim of creating fully fledged branch structures within the year.  
 
Bob Knockey will organize regular newsletter communications and social gatherings and outings for Kea South Africa members. Planned outing are visits to Langverwacht Hill battle site, All Blacks and Black cap test matches.  
 
Veena Mishray will manage the Corporate Social portfolio. This role will involve Kea South Africa on social responsibility projects within the community. This will align with the High Commissioners vision of benefiting the less fortunate while enhancing the New Zealand's image. She is also responsible for arranging NZ cultural activities alongside the High Commission.
