Could international money transfers to NZ increase?

International money transfers from the UK to New Zealand could be on the rise.  One expert has suggested that the UK is becoming increasingly keen to employ people from New Zealand.

Anna Groot, regional manager for the UK and Ireland for Kea, said: "[New Zealanders] are very good at just pitching in, knuckling down and just taking on board whatever needs to get done."

However, the current financial climate may mean that many New Zealanders who have not left yet their jobs at home are unwilling to take the risk, as Ms Groot suggested "the recession has made a lot of people stay".

Friends of family working temporarily in the UK may want to use an international money transfer service to send funds back home.

Ms Groot explained the reasons behind New Zealanders' high employability: "I think that's really to do with the fact that you come from a smaller market so you are more ready to apply yourself to any task that needs to be done."
